The Ring of Fire – The inspiration behind our logo

The ISG logo draws inspiration from the Ring of Fire, the geological belt that connects Asia with North and South America through a continuous arc of activity and movement. Technically, it represents the most dynamic and interconnected region on earth, mirroring the flow of manufacturing, trade, and execution across these markets. Symbolically, it reflects ISG’s foundation bridging continents, uniting where our founders come from, and connecting our customers to the center of modern sourcing.

Christopher (Chris) Scholem

Managing Director & Co-Founder

Chris brings 14 years of senior CPG experience across Sourcing, Product Development, and Category Management. He has led programs across more than a dozen product categories, from early concept through to the production floor, and understands precisely where programs succeed and where they break down. His approach is grounded in a straightforward conviction. The most valuable knowledge in this business is earned on the ground, inside factories, and through direct dialogue with the people who build products. That conviction shaped ISG. Where many sourcing models treat factory relationships as transactional, Chris views them as the foundation of everything. When production becomes difficult, those relationships determine how quickly problems are resolved and how well a client's business is protected. It is why he made the decision to base himself in the region full time. His connection to Asia began at 13 with learning Mandarin Chinese and a curiosity that never switched off. Beginning in 2005 he lived in China on five separate occasions, watching a country transform in real time. That experience shaped how he reads markets, how he reads people, and how he operates comfortably inside complexity. As manufacturing has shifted across Southeast Asia, so has he. For Chris, Asia has never been a posting. It has always felt like home.

Alexia Rodrigues Scholem

Alexia brings 15 years of experience spanning engineering, project management, and CPG supply chain and product development. Her technical foundation gave her something rare in this industry, the ability to see a program not just as it stands today, but two or three steps ahead. That engineering mindset, combined with a natural creativity, is what has made her the kind of partner that ambitious, fast moving buying teams return to. Over the last 8 years having worked on both the retail and importer side of the business, she has launched private label and branded programs from Asia and built a reputation for bringing structure and clarity to complexity. Where others manage programs, Alexia architects them, understanding instinctively how decisions made early in development ripple through to production. Growing up in Brazil and building her career in the United States, Alexia has spent her life navigating between different cultures, languages, and ways of doing business. That adaptability is not something she learned in a boardroom. It is simply how she is wired. At ISG it shows up every day in how she connects US client expectations with the realities of overseas manufacturing, and makes both sides feel understood.
For Alexia, success has never been about the finished product alone. It is about being the person the team knows they can count on when it matters most.
